Meet Our Founder and CEO
Kimble Breazell-Clark A passion for helping people
At the tender age of 19, Kimble Breazell-Clark, founder and CEO of A Family Friend, was a young mother, and single. At that time, she had no idea what was in store for her future, but – as a military brat with traveling every 2-3 years she never really had the opportunity to know her own grandparent– she discovered early on her life passion: serving seniors. She smiles, “they call us the United Nations” when it comes to grandparents.
With her family’s support, Kimble attended a trade school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, graduating in 1990 with credentials as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She went on to receive her Nursing degree in 2003 from Altamaha Tech Nursing Program in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Kimble is also a certified dementia practitioner (CDP), a designation that confirms a standard of excellence in providing care to those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
For 26 years, Kimble worked in the skilled nursing and rehabilitation fields, honing her experience in the continuum of senior care needs. In 2019, she realized a lifelong dream and founded her own business, A Family Friend.
In explaining the birth of her company, Kimble says, “When I moved east, I worried constantly about my parents in Colorado Springs, who are now in their 80s. I realized how good it would be to have someone looking in on them in their own home, attending to any health needs, and keeping me posted on their well-being – in short, “a family friend.” I discovered the need for this kind of service is universal, and launched A Family Friend to provide a watchful eye for home-based seniors – and bring peace of mind to their loved ones, wherever they are in the world.”
Kimble is joyfully married to Michael Clark, whom she met at a Starbucks in Raleigh and never looked back. She is also the devoted mother of three children, DeVon, age 30; Desire, age 27, and Demetrik, age 22, and grandmother to DeVon Jr., age 3, and Kobe, who is 3 months old.
