Dementia Services A person-centered perspective
A Family Friend has a special commitment to people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). Our founder and CEO, Kimble Breazell-Clark, is a certified dementia practitioner (CDP), and all of our staff members receive specialized training in tailoring care to individuals, assisting family caregivers, and helping clients with dementia do as much as they can on their own. A Family Friend is an active member of the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina, joining with other organizations to improve quality of life and support for those living with dementia.
With our home care services, those with ADRD can often continue to age in place at home. In-home services range from skilled care for medical needs, provided by a licensed health professional, to companionship, personal care, and homemaker services.
Our approach to ADRD is empowering and strength based, focusing not on the disease but on the individual and their remaining abilities. We celebrate who the person is and what they can do, and we accommodate for what they cannot do. The result is awakened potential, meaningful connections, and enriched quality of life.
